The ISEE (Independent School Entrance Examination) serves as a standardized test specifically designed for admissions into private middle and high schools. This exam holds paramount importance as it serves as a yardstick for schools to evaluate a student’s academic capabilities and potential for success in their academic journey.
If you are applying for 7th or 8th grade, then you will take the Middle Level test. If you are applying to 9th to 12th grade, then you will take the Upper-Level Test
The ISEE is scored in four sections: Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning, Reading Comprehension, and Mathematics Achievement. Each section receives a score from 1-9 based on the percentile of correct answers the student receives, with 1 being the lowest and 9 the highest. In order to get a 9, you need to be in the 96th to 99th percentile.
